Surprise, my first inflo

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

I just had to show off my first inflo. It is on one of the cuttings I bought from Buried Treasures. I received this one after November 17th! I was really surprised to find this last week. I have been watching it to make sure it was not going to die and fall off before I showed it off. I know I should cut it off and let roots grow but I just cant!

Way to go, Tammie! I can't wait to see it in full bloom! Is it rooting right now? Give that baby as much heat and light as possible;-)

Tammie,
That's great! I got some cuttings from BT around that same time. They are in their own little warm spot in the greenhouse, and I was proud they all had leaves :-) LOL Can't wait to see pictures of full bloom.

I am jealous. My rooted cutting just shows leaves and growth, but one day the blooms should come....

"My rooted cutting just shows leaves and growth" - it seems to me a week or two ago you were VERY excited about leaves and growth LOL.
Some people want everything at once..... ;-)

I have had so much leaves and growth that many of the first leaves have already fallen off... I think they realized for a week that it was winter and everything started to drop! Now, lots of new but that inflo is ver exciting... I have about 40 cuttings and seedlings and this is my FIRST!!! (just a little excitement here) I will have flowers within 9 months of starting my first cutting. I have lost my share of cuttings though. I am definitely in the beginner stage.

Excitement crushed.. the inflo died ... I did have one bloom partially open so I got to see it... the rest just went south in a hurry. We had such nice warm weather for a while and sunshine then suddenly got cold and dark again.. my inflo did not like that even though it is in my atrium with temps around 70 24/7 .... now maybe the cutting will work on some roots.. maybe it just ran out of steam with no roots supporting it.

Tammie, you are right that the cutting probably just ran out of energy. It takes a lot of energy to bloom, and sometimes, blooming is aborted as a natural occurrence. It is better if the energy is directed to root formation instead for now, and then you are sure to have blooms later.

..to bad what a shame!
I never seen a inflo that healthy go south before..
You didn't have enough light and heat..

That inflo lost everything but the main stalk stayed in place and it now has a single bud growing and I think will bloom.

All of my cutings have been outside for weeks now. They even tolerated 39 degrees one night but are up against a brick wall that gets very heated during the day and radiates heat all night.

I am having trouble finding enough 1 gal pots to put my rooted cuttings in now. I have lots of them ready for pots. I start them in 2 liter soda bottles so I can see the roots system and know they are fully rooted.

If it was a newly rooted cutting it probably wouldnt have bloomed true either.
The next one will tickle you sillly!!
Hang in there!! 8D
