Searching for this begonia

Wharton, TX(Zone 9a)

Hi all, I finally found a photo and name of the begonia I have been searching for for years. It is called LUCERNE an heirloom introduced in 1892. Used to grow it years ago. Would love to get a cutting if anyone has one out there. Done a lot of searching on the web sites(sticky?) provided by Begoniacrazii and only found it in England so far.

Fancyflea, I will try to root you a cutting a little later. I have 3 and they all look horrible
in the g house right now. It's bitter cold and we just had snow and ice so it's all I
can do to water when I need to. Spending most of my time trying to keep my animals
warm, fed and watered. Guess I'm doing good, they're all fat like their mom and dad. lol
Diets for them when the weather warms.

Thanks Jackie!!!!!!,,,,,,,,A ray of light during this snowy icy grey winter day. I know it's not the best time of the year for starting plants. I can be patient........

I mentioned cane Lucerne to Greg Stychs out of Florida who ships cuttings....and he showed me a plant 6 feet tall and 6 feet wide, but i don't know what he is doing now. I placed an order over a month ago and haven't heard back from him. Begoniacrazie knows him well, i think.

Hi Fancyflea,

I have 3 very large Coralina du Lucerna plants (see my thread from January 17 below) that do well here in NJ. I can strike cuttings also and will do so in the Spring.

It's my favorite angel wing!
