I hope someone here can help me.
I got this contraption for really cheap at a garage sale and knew it was good for something. Just wasn't quite sure how to best use it. Currently, I just place plants that I am trying to get to root under it when I come home in the evening but there has got to be something more I can do.
-How can I get some heat in it? The lights are strong but not much heat emitts.
-What is the cord/plug that comes out of the top of it for?
-The base is so small that I can only fit a few plants in it. I feel like there should be some sort of stand that I
can buy to place inside that would allow me to have a few shevles of plants getting the light.
-Are these made to leave on all day?
Inquiring mind wants to know. Please help!

Grow Room?
Sorry I can't help you, but it looks like a pie and cake display, when you walk into a restaurant, Do you have any cherry pie??
It does, doesn't it? 19flip44 thanks for your feedback...
its a hydroponic grow chamber , ive seen them on ebay and some hydroponic sites.
I cant rememer the name of the unit. hard to say what the cord out the top is for.
could have been for a fan or another light (small MH or HPS )
Thanks for the info VpSparky...
Will have to check it out on line and learn how to use it...or how much to trade it for!
I prefer my simple lighting system and bubbler...kind of old fashioned I guess.
Usually, those are lit with a HID(high intensity discharge) set up using either MH(metal halide) or HPS(high pressure sodium bulbs and ballasts. I'd say a 250 watt would do fine and anything bigger....you will need to ventilate. Both types require a ballast, cord, mogul socket and bulb matched to the ballast used. You can buy the 150 watt HPS as a security light at Lowes, HD....etc., and it will do the job nicely also. They run about 100.00 to 110.00 and include everything you need. Anything larger than a 150 and you will have to order off the web unless you have a hydroponic store nearby. It's a really nice way to grow a specialty crop and it cuts your time by a third while giving you spectacular results.
I have grown veggies using a very similar setup with unbelievable success....indoors, dead of winter.
No dirt.......just good ol' H20 and lots and lots of bubbles!
Thanks for the info...looking into a trade right now for it. It will be a hydroponics system although I really want an aeroponics one...Let you know what I get. Thanks
