Welping a new litter

Hempstead, TX(Zone 8a)

Good Morning - My name is Melissa, I am a member of Dave's (have been offline for a long while), and I live in Monaville, Texas. That is about an hour or so from Houston.

This is my situation. I am currently welping a litter of 4 pups (3 weeks next Thurs) and of course caring for the mom. The owner of the dogs, my neighbor, had a massive stroke and will not be returning home.

I built a warm welping box with a portable fence around it in the garage. I check on the dogs 3x per day, but feel like it is time to move them to my house so they can be socialized and then adopted out.

Any suggestions on making that move a lesser stress on the mom dog? My fear of moving her is that she might try to take the pups back up the road to "her house." I would have to leave a crack in the garage door open or leave a door ajar, if she is placed in the breezeway. She is a bit skittish but lets me handle the pups, lets me hold and pet her, and seems much more outgoing then before she had the pups.

I would appreciate any help offered.

Thank you
