My 11 pupae are inside. One of them I thought was about to eclose. This morning it looks black. Anyone know if that means it died or is it possible that the color looks different inside the house than in the sun?

Karen - Well ..... obviously from the news announcement that you have a "boy" on another thread you started..... the black chrysalis must have eclosed. They do get really dark right before they emerge from the chyrsalis. I always wait. Better to be sure before you discard a chrysalis that you "think" may have died!
Yes, it doesn't look as dark when it is on the lanai as it did indoors.
