Galveston Co. Fruit Tree Sale Feb 3,2007
Just so you know. Two "26' box vans" have been loaded to the rafters in our driveway. They will be pulling out @ 7am in the morning headed for Galveston. Excellent selection, if I do say so myself but what do I know, I'm only the Business Manager.
Good luck to all who plan to attend & get there EARLY!
I'll be there, maybe not bright eye and bushy tail at that time in the morning, but I'll be there never the less. I, along with another Master Gardener were assigned to inventory all those plants. After making out signs and tags today I know this is going to be one awesome sale.
Well, I hauled 8 propane 20# tanks fr the Farm tonite. Drove fr the Farm to Magnolia, about 27 miles, b4 the local hdwe store closed @ 6:30,,,,,,with my bright yellow light telling me that my CR-V NEEDED gas!
Made it to the hdwe store b4 closing. Got tanks filled. Delivered borrowed tanks & am now @ home. My donkey is dragging in the dirt!
But if it is cold on the 10th, you will be glad that I did this 2nite!!!
Hope ya'll have DRY weather! Tell MaryBeth that you know Prince.
She is an awesome LADY!!!
Who's babysitting all this produce Friday nite?
Well, did you get to count today? Wow that is a lot of plants & trees! My trucks didn't get back til after lunch.
Hope the wind dies down some for you, tomorrow!
sunny, how did y'all do? your sale always sets the tone for the next sales, ours is next
Smockette: Inventory was counted and boy what a nice bunch of trees. The hard to find tropicals were awesome and went fast as well as the citrus and other trees. The cold didn't keep anyone away. We wrapped up the tropicals Friday night and locked up the gates. We were there a little after 6am the next day. Sure sounds like you had a great adventure with those propane tanks. Too funny! I am just now recovering from the sale. Whew.
vossner: The sale was great and for a while there we didn't even have elbow room. I won't know until Tuesday night the final total but it is being said that this is one of the best sales yet. I know in the first 1/2 hour we had sold out several of the trees and we had a lot to start with. Before I could even turn around 300 of the blackberry plants were even sold. We did hand out information to everyone about the other MG fruit trees upcoming sales. We told them to get there early. Good luck on your sale vossner and stand back.
