those seem real durable. do you think it will survive and become a mature tree?

Yes, several have come up from a mother plant in my brother's yard and have grown fairly quickly.

do theses ever become problems for yall?

These palms have come up from seed in the cracks in the cement between the foundations of my brother's apartment buildings and the drivewways that butt up against them. He has removed them before they become very large for fear that the that the driveways and the foundations will suffer damage. as well as the plants grow largermaking it impossible to drive down the driveways without car damage. Two have come up in asphalted areas under stairs leading to 2nd floor apartments and damaged the asphalt when they were not removed as young plants. When possible, the plants that come up where my brother does not want them to grow are dug up and potted when they are young. Due to a severe drought the past 2 years, not many seeds have sprouted.
