Beautiful old 1797 manuscript on Georgia butterflies

(Zone 7a)

Tripped over this while looking for something else, and thought someone here might enjoy it:

The Missouri Botanic Garden has evidently scanned and put rare books on the internet in free, digital form. Scroll down toward the bottom to find it.

Neat, thanks!

You're welcome :)

bluespiral - That's really neat to see such old articles/books! Very interesting! Thanks for sharing that link!

If y'all come up with any thoughts or comparisons on then and now when reading this book, I'd be interested to hear them. I don't know about Georgia, but in Maryland, they spray herbicides routinely wherever there's a guard rail along a road - including all the gardens along our street - can't be good for butterflies.
