February Bingo....

Okay, guys and gals, here we go. Our new theme is "Violets I LOVE" ....I would like for each of you to particpate in choosing our names for the calls, so please dmail me with the one you LOVE and I will add it to the list....also please find a picture of it on the internet to post when it is called....if you have the one you send then we would love to see a picture of your plant too!

As is custom I will post thirty five names and will make calls daily. It will most likely be a short game. But February is a short month too... Moretz has agreed to hold the cards.

I would like to make the first prize a larger prize, and only have three winners total. Allison is supplying us with the second and third prizes as well as donating to the first prize, along with several others, so once I know who is donating and what the dollar amount of the first prize will be, I will announce that as well. We will let the WINNER choose where he/she would like to have the gift certificate purchased in their name...so you may choose any site you wish that will allow gift certificates.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, from all of you that encouraged me. I hope it will be a fun and fast game! Can't wait...so if everyone will dmail me the "Love" of their AV world....and sign up I will post the names asap. I would like to start the game on Monday February 5th...that is Monday right...so I will post the names in the next few days if you guys will send them to me...I will add to my list if we don't get thirty five responses with names of their own...hmm...I am thinking we will need a few days to get the cards to Mortez after we have the list....so February 5th may be a little early...but we can play it by ear....so let me hear from you...please!

Great Theme for February's Game ... just in time for Valentine's (Love) Day! I don't have very many AV's ... about a dozen, mostly Noids. I do however, have MANY favorites, just from viewing other DG'ers photo's! My "wish list" is growing by leaps and bounds. I am D-Mailing one of my "Favorites" to you now .... and will post the photo if it is called!

This is really exciting for me..so many responses. Lauri had asked about NOIDS being in the most "loved" drawing, and I told her, I don't see why not...just send me a made up name like Lauri's PINK NOID or whatever and we will get to some pictures of some we normally would not have....I am sure some of you have heirloom AVS that were handed down from Mama's and Grandmama's or Great Aunts etc...so that would be cool to see those! Have a great weekend....we need more names too...more people! Jill, where are you? We are planning a great first prize too, so come on everyone send me those names!!!

Okay, everyone I am getting the list ready...if you have sent a name for me, would you please send a picture if you have one of your pick....I have decided to post the pictures as I do the calls, maybe even do like we did in a past month and post the pictures first so you can all guess what it is...that was fun! Anyway, I will complete the list some time this weekend and open a new thread to post the list etc. I am going to have more on my list than thirty-five, since we are having only three prizes, I thought that would make it last a little longer and I can make more calls per day etc. anyway, unless there is a reason to keep the list shorter I will make my calls from a list of 50 names...does anyone know of a reason to limit it to thirty five? Just checking...thanks so much for your support and I am sure we are going to have a blast!!!!

Well I got the 35 names from I started playing Bingo about 4 years ago on 3-5 other Av forums.
It was always people with 35 named Av's hosting.
Winners most the time " ONE" There were some exceptions. on Sweet Violet Rich would let there be a dozen winners. I won his leaves once :))
I always bought leaves not plants and grew by leaf so I always gave baby plants. A few times I let the Winnter have all 35 plants if they wanted. Yes they did take all 35 babies !
I have played a good 3-4 dozen Bingo games always been 35.
Except few times I had a hard time picking just 35 name Av's as I had a lot of named babies hundreds. So I upped them number of choises but people's Bingo card was still 15.

he are reg. Bingo cards 35 ? All I know I started playing way before I grew by leaf and could Sponcor from several different groups and the game was always played the same way. Where it first originated years ago not sure, before my time Hehe

Oh, I think we will still just have fifteen names on the cards....just more to pick from...I am going to try it this way and see how it goes..LOL I most likely will make several (three) calls a day, (at least two)...and spread them out during the day so more people will have a chance to see them at different times of the day when first called...if that makes sense. I am often up during the wee hours of the morning, when it is just late evening for the West Coasters...so maybe a few called during those hours, so they get them first sometimes too...I just can't wait....I am thrilled to be able to do this and hope it is a lot of fun!!

I thought maybe BINGO cards were just twenty five but maybe more, I will have to check..LOL
My Mama most likely could tell me, she plays everyweek!

What fun! You know I'm in... I'm just having a hard time picking ONE favorite "Violet I LOVE" hahaha.... Do I pick 'Southern Delight', who is just bursting into bloom this week (first blooms, too, what fun!), do I pick my favorite "Big Blue noid" that I've been propagating for years so that it's been grown and loved by many, do I pick 'Rob's Love Bite', a cute mini with a red bloom and an appropriate name for Valentine's Day.... you are starting to see my dilemna!

I think it'll work fine to have more names on the list for calling... as you said, that'll let you do more calls at random times... I like the idea!

Please don't ever feel you have to Sponcor/Host or Pay or donate a Bingo prize in order to play.
We have had as many as 45 players a month in our Bingo games ! The more the merrier. Yes it's fun to win but it's more fun the joy of playing together. Learning about the different plants being posted, seeing the pretty pictures.
The fun talented friends we have sponcoring/hosting our games that make them so much fun!

I suggest a deadline for cards to be D-Mailed to Moretz, since the game will begin Monday morning Feb 5th, maybe there should be a deadline of when cards have to be in .... say Saturday Feb 3rd?
