i am the proud owner of a 20 x 60' double poly hoophouse which i have erected over the past few winter months (definately not the greatest season to build a greenhouse in ontario, but necessary to get an early start for my veggie transplants this season). anyhow, i put the poly on a couple weeks ago on a warmish, nice day. now it is freezing here and the condensation between the 2 layers of poly has frozen into a big sheet. it's making me nervous that the shards shards of ice will slice the poly when it melts......basically i'm just looking for some reassurance that it will be ok. the inflator fan and furnace aren't installed yet (probably will be next week though), so i am unable to heat it up and get it melting....any thoughts/suggestions/words of reassurance?
icy condensation
When I had a poly covered greenhouse I found that the poly when new, was pretty tough stuff, and even hard to cut. So, I wouldn't worry about it too much. When it gets a few years old though it gets brittle and that is another matter.
