tips for snow queen?

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Hello!

I just received some cuttings of Hibiscus 'snow queen'. Does anyone have tips for rooting these, and what can I do to make this one happy once it is rooted?

Thanks, Kim

Hi Kim,
Mine rooted easily in my EZ clone systems. Basically it is a unit that continuously sprays the bottom part of the cuttings with water. They rooted in about 10 days. I bought a used EZ clone on ebay for about 150.00.

Well, I am in grad school right now so I can't afford to spend $150 on much of anything. Is there perhaps a cheaper way to do this?

Thanks, Kim

Kim,
I use cuttings that are 6-8 inches long, and remove all but the top 4-6 leaves. I dip the ends in a rooting compound and place 5-8 cuttings in a jar of damp vermiculite. I "tent" them with a clear plastic bag, and place in a warm, bright light spot.

If you have a heat mat, put the jar on the mat.
