CLOSED: SASBE- what is the cheapest way to send

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm still pretty new here and I see where a lot of gardeners request a bubble envelope for the seeds. What is the cheapest way to send a SASBE? I did it once by putting it inside a 10x13 envelope, so that's 63 cents each way. Actually it was 78 cents each way because all I had was 39 cent stamps. I just purchased some 24 cent stamps today. Does 63 cents usually cover the postage for the amount of seeds that most people send?
On the flip side, I also pick up some 6x9 bubble envelopes for about 20 cents each. Is it reasonable just to request a couple of stamps from someone and use one of my own bubble envelopes to mail my seeds to them?

I think requesting the stamps and using your envelopes is the way to do it. I find that is the cheapest way to do it as long as you have cheap or reusable envelopes. People pass it along and it usually works out okay for everyone in the end. I find that I have seldom lost anything in the long run.

I usually send a bubble envelope, usually with 2 - 39cent stamps on it, and a address label and 2 more stamps inside. Whoever is sending you the seeds, can put the address label inside over the address to them on the outside, peel off the used stamps, or ink them out and put on the included postage. For the average trade, I believe the 63 cents is enough postage.

It's an individual thing, but I think most of us recycle salvageable bubble envelopes. I have even cut apart big ones, to make several smaller ones.
Personally, I would be just as happy having someone just send stamps, unless I run low on bubble envelopes which is unlikely. It seems pointless for a bubble envelope to make a trip empty.
