h. obovata

Macon, IL(Zone 5b)

Just wanted to share a picture of my obovata. I just LOVE this plant - the leaves are like paddles - very cool! I'm really into hoyas with "interesting" leaves - most of my last Hawaiian order were hoyas with cool leaves. Anybody have any favorite "cool-leafed" hoyas they want to share (to give me an idea of others to order the next time???!!!) Karen

I am partial to H. erythrina too. I love those ruffled leaves.

Prescott, AZ

Karen I really like obovata too, I was watering today and noticed one of my plants has 4 peduncles budding up:) However my plant does not have a plasma screen it can twirl around !! I will have to check up on that. H. excavata has really cool thick paddle leaves, the finlaysonii group are some of my favorite leaves. Oh yea and one I just got recently had very jurassic leaves, H. clemensorium... Way cool..

My favorites as far as cool/neat leaves go and not in any particular order are ----deykei--all of the finlaysonii group--retusa--obovata--carnosa compacta/hindu rope--pauciflora--subquintuplinervis--longifolia

Thanks for the "cool leaf" recommendations! Tami - I have hoyas, DH has the TV!

Karen there are lots of others that I like with neat leaves just too many to list. Hoya latifolia IML 88 is a favorite simply because of the leave size. I'm a pretty average sized guy, with a fairly good sized hand and the leaves on that plant are larger thatn my hand.

If you want huge leaves you would like latifolia (IML88)-- cintrina--glabra and i'm sure there are plenty of others with jolly green giant type leaves!!!

LOL - jolly green giant type leaves - yup, that's what I like!

...BIG leaves: also H. pentaphlebia, H. rigida, H. monetteae, H. meliflua ssp. fraterna, H. aff. latifolia, H. tjadamanguensis (spelling?), H. aff. clemensiorum, H. aff. anulata

....and the beat goes on....
