They're not chickadees, I think they're cedar waxwings
I think cedar waxwings, too.
I've never had one at my feeders, but I have lots of chickadees. Boy they all look like they're ahving a great time there!
OMG you got Cedar Waxwings in a Mud Puddle lol. Talk about lucky!!!!!!!!
Fantastic shots MySharona! They are most definately Cedar Waxwings (with Robin's in the first pic also). They travel in bunches just like that. One or two will go out ahead and check things out, sound out the call that the coast is clear, and here thye come!
That is a special treat you had.
Lucky you!!
Wonderful photos - I've never seen Waxwings in an environment that made them so easy to see! Good job!
Fantastic pic's. They are most definitely Cedar Waxwings, They use to nest, in the apple trees, in the yard, when I was growing up in Michigan and I was always fond of them. In Alaska we have the similar, but slightly more colorful, Bohemian Waxwings. In the winter the Bohemian Waxwings, migrate down from the higher mountains, to the lowlands, where they feed on the Mount Ash tree berries. I saw several flocks of hundreds fly past the house today. But, I haven't found a flock to photograph feeding, even though I have driven around to areas with lots of Mt. Ash trees several times.
I had to take most of the pictures through the window at work which is why some of them aren't as clear. The first pics I was able to ease open the back door and snap away. There were just flocks of them in the area and we were in awe of them! We do have a lot of berry shrubs around the office. They emptied this one of berries! I don't know if you can see the shrub is loaded with birds. I told my co-workers the puddle would probably be dry by this morning!
