Beautiful DAY

Silver Spring, MD

Hope everyone is having a gorgeous day. Here in Maryland the sun is out and the temperature is at least above freezing. I've been cleaning house all day and take mini breaks to peek at the forum. It has been great fun talking with you all.

I am so excited for spring to come. Today is a reminder of what is coming!!!!

Happy Spring, everyone!

Oh nanna, I want spring too! Today I told myself, ok January is almost over. Then Feb, March and April comes with warmer weather. Longing for spring....

Today was a work day for me, lots of serious problems at work. Glad to be home with my son and dog, cat and plants:-) It's cold in NY, partly sunny. By Friday it's going to be a high of 19 deg....brrrrrrr

Have a good night

Happy Spring to you too Nanna! As a Floridian, I can't complain about the weather at all! We had two cold (for us ) nights, in the low 40's at Thanksgiving, and lately we've had highs @ 80, 81 and lows at night in mid 60's! A cold front came through yesterday and brought us some MUCH needed rain, and today temp's were only in the 70's. According to the weather folks .... next week we are supposed to get our coldest weather of the season .... daytime high's in low 50's and night time lows in upper 30's! I'm just hoping and praying we don't get frost or a hard freeze this year .... we have had mild winters the past 3 or 4 years and no freezes in awhile! I have so many plants I have to drag inside if we have temp's in the 30's at night ... and plants in the ground that I have to cover with old blankets to protect from frost. We are very fortunate down here that we don't get bad winters very often, and when we do get real cold temp's, they don't last long ... a couple of weeks at the most! Weather patterns have been very weird all over the country this year .... some reporting "False Spring" with stuff blooming in January that ususally doesn't bloom until April!

Well .... have a good night and will enjoy chatting with y'all again tomorrow!

That is what is going on here. I have bulbs that came up two or so inches a week or so ago. But it shouldn't be too much longer until we are enjoying tulips and daffodills, etc.

We're still in the deep freeze in Georgia, the temp will only be in the low 40's today and no sun. We were sure fooled by all of the warm weather and rain, Jonquils were up, Irises were blooming, and some trees were budding. The weather was so nice in December it made you really want to start some outside planting. Hopefully, soon the weather will begin to look like Spring again.

Maureen, I can sympathize with your work problems, hope things change soon for you.
