bluebird houses

the other morning i was walking up the driveway to get the newspaper and saw bluebirds in amongst the citrus grove. i ran back into the house and got online. whoa, big time prices on bluebird houses. i scanned ebay and found a seller and bought four of them (the buy it now feature). they were delivered in three days and i have them up in our adjacent field. oh boy, the bluebirds are going crazy for them! no pictures yet, but even if i don't ever get a picture, just knowing they have a place to raise their families is a treat for me.

since then i've ordered some titmouse and wren houses too. i didn't realize that the titmouse needs a cavity similar to bluebirds and will nest in boxes too. yippee!

who is the seller? I buy my fly thru feeders on ebay. The guy does a first rate job building them.

the bluebird houses were from cornbread37. they ship ups and i got 4 for 30 plus 10 shipping. considering that the cheapest i googled them was 29 a piece, i thought it was a steal. the others came from ladybug57birds. good prices there too.

i didn't want a fancy painted house; i wanted utilitarian houses that are well-built and to the proper specifications.

I have had good luck with these feeders. Have alot more birds. I am on my 2nd and 3rd years with them. The screen in the bottom is in perfect shape still. I do have them hanging on a pole with a baffle and the squirrels dont get in these feeders. This year I brought them in and sanded the roof and painted it with copper patio paint. They are showing no signs of falling apart, and they are in FULL sun. I had to get the pole away from the trees so the squirrels could not jump in.

birdcrazy, those aren't websites that i posted, those are the names of the sellers on ebay. if you go to ebay, you can look up a seller's products. sorry for the confusion-no baking here either! lol

oh thanks for the link. I e-mailed him to see if he would custom make me a feeder like a hanging plant stand I used to use for a feeder that the little birds loved and flocked to

yipee he is going to make my feeder by my design. Like a old Hanging tiered Plant stand I used to have and used for feeding the birds. The little birds love it and you can view them & take pics easily. Only difference is this one will have a roof with over hang to shelter the seed from rain. I am so excited

ummm...that just sounds great. you wouldnt mind if I email him and ask to see a picture of that. Was going to get another one, and it would be great to have a different one this time for variety. He seems to be a really great guy that cares not only about nature, but his work. I sure hope he comes thru this time as well!
I got my thistle out this morning. Its so early, but you cant argue with the birds being out there. I still cant believe I had a house finch all the way down here.
