Storing over winter - in the garage

Frisco, TX(Zone 7b)

I have three braided Hibiscuses (or would that be Hibisci?) in terra cotta pots in the garage. Each is about four feet tall. My neighbor says she keeps them through the winter in her garage.

Any suggestions on what I need to do? Get them light when the temp gets up? "How up"? Watering? Feeding?

Thanks

Water when they get fairly dry, keep them no colder than 55F and NO fertilizer in storage.Give some bright light and expect some leaf drop(its natural in storage) when nights get back to upper 50's F + then they can go back outdoors.

will it cause a problem to bring them out during the day if the temps get up and there is sun?

Please disregard me if someone who has experience with this comes along, but I know they don't like being moved a lot (they'll tend to drop leaves when you do move them), so the stress of being moved in and out a bunch might not be good for them, you may be better off waiting until you can take them out and leave them out. You also don't want to expose them right away to all kinds of sun after they've been in a dark garage, when they are ready to go back outside you'll want to put them in a shady place at first, then let them gradually have more sun until they're used to it again.
