Okay....Is this?

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

the Hawaiian Spider Plant? I like it because it looks different than most. The variegation is yellow as opposed to the white found in most others. And look at the baby....it's almost all white!!!!!! :))

Anyone care to take a stab at the variety? Thanks!

GH,

I don't know what kind it is, however it sure is pretty, and oh so shiney...love it..

Thanks for sharing,

Hey Char!

Long time no see.....good to hear from you. I hope I can keep it this shiney and healthy. I have had zero luck with keeping spider 'Bonnie'. I'm too neglectful with the watering and I never changed it out of that dreadful HD peaty soil. I'm going to give her another try this Spring and will immediately change the soil! Also, my species spider plant has done well and is full of babies. I need to get some hooks in my ceiling so they hang down. My goal is to have spiders and Wandering Jews hanging everywhere. :)))))

It looks my baby Hawaiian Spider I just got a couple months ago! Where did you find this one? It's beautiful!!

That is awesome.

I'm getting so tired of the plain green ones I have tons of. This year I hope to break free of the "plain green" spider rut! :)

I second that. It looks like the Hawaiian spider to me, too. Very nice! :)

Hey Debbie! I bought this one at Watson's, a local nursery. I placed it in one of Dave's nursery find thingies a month or ago. LOL, I know, what the??? Hopefully somebody out there knows what I'm talking about!

David- Do you mean the white and green ones or all green? Do you have any pictures to post?

Ya gotta love spiders. It's amazing to see a nice full mother plant full of babies dangling all over!

Aha! I've got it! I placed it in the "Go Gardening" tab on Daves Garden.

GH,
I have the all green ones (I guess that's what they're called); some of the leaves have a lighter shade stripe down the middle, but it's not like the variegated ones I've seen.

Here are a couple pics of mine:

Last year I started picking the pups off and rooting them in water in that plastic tub you see. When it gets full I take them to work and pass them out (I get TONS of pups from the 3 or 4 hanging baskets I have).

David

The Hawaiian Spider plant gets huge and IMHO is the prettiest of all the spiders, so healthy looking.

They sure are pretty, if anyone has a slip and wants to do some swapping, i have lots of plants that i can trade if your looking for something special, heck i may have that as well....Please let me know.

GH, yeah i have been so busy with this thing called "life" and trying really hard to not let my houseplants die in the house. It seems every time I bring them in for the winter, over 50% of them die, well i am happy to report that only about 5 or so died...of course my electric bill went up a wee bit, but totally worth it. I have so many lights on during the day,you can land a plane if need be...I also had to put them on timers so they come on about 7 am and go off about 9 pm...it was taking me forever to turn on and turn off all those lights.

Thanks Alot,

Char

Char....I have a neglected Hawaiian Spider, and please let me be the first to offer you a few babies!
In fact, I'll send them to you soon, if you like?!
Just send me your address....I'll insulate well.

GH...I definitely agree.

When I found mine (at WM, of all places) I didn't know what, but knew that something was different about it. I guess it's that 'glow' in the leaves of the 'mother' plant.

I love the Hawiaan spider, in my opinion that is exactly what you have. I will post a pic of mine tonight when I get home from work.

That is such a beautiful "Spider" .... wish our Wal-Mart carried them. All you ever see down here are the regular variegated ones and every once in awhile the solid green. I agree that the "Hawaiian" Spider is probably the prettiest I've seen so far!

GH That spider is Gorgeous.I'm like Lin.My walmart never carries any spiders that nice.Sure wish they would.

Joshua, TX(Zone 8a)

Really Really pretty plant. VERY different than the spider plants we all see everywhere.
Where did you say you found it?

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

I found it at a local nursery, Watson's Garden Center. Love 'em!!!!
