I need pots

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

I need pots for my african violets. Where can I find them sold in bulk wholesale. None of my sources have pots I need or want.
I use to use kord pots with the curved lip so the leaves and stems didn't get damaged and flat on bottom so they made direct contact w/capilary(sp?) mats.

Hey P

Have you checked out the stickey at the top of the forum. There are several suppliers there. You might even find them at your local nursery right now. They would be a little more expensive at a local nursery but if you need them right away you could get a few until your order comes.

I took these links from sticky. I need to buy some more first of the month that's why I ask what you need .

Allison, those are good. I need to order some. : ) If you have a special plant that you want in a more expensive pot, I like the Oyama pots at avplanters.com. They are expensive, so I just have a few for my favorite plants. Pam

I don't buy special . What I like to use is the proper size plastic pot and slip them in pretty holders . Thanks though. When I buy I like to buy in the hundreds then I always have some to share. or bingo boxes...

Looks like Secert Garden is the one to go with. Right now I'm just looking for the plain pots to put av's in for retail sales. The fancy pots I buy and sell empty as impulse purchases.

I buy most from SG the 2 inch are nice. Great for all plants up to six inches across, babies, Minis never need larger and most Semi's either. Their 3 Oz. round sturdy white are real nice. Love their pan pots ( bulb pans) for trailers, Epsicas, Chiritas,Streps, Begonias and more !
I get my 4, and 5 inch Azeala pots from Novosel better price and nice. I also buy large pots gal.. and hanging from SG and Novosel.

I just got a couple plants today from Secret Garden they were super nice !

Hey gang!
Been off-line for over a week(twitch-twitch..withdrawal) so I haven't been able to purchase my pots yet.

Just got email from Optimara canceling my mini's I ordered for Valentine Day order due to weather...RATS! But I rather they cancel than have dead plants delivered. Oh Well, there's always Mother's Day.

Oh yes Mom's day get a double order !
I'm going to be placing or order for pots from Secret Gardens , but their low shipping only ten dollars for 100.00 sales is not worth splitting orders except if someone wanted a small amount. I buy the small for Micro Minis, the 2 inch round, 3 inch round and 5 and 6 inch pan pots all pots in white sturdy. Pan pots are great for Epsicas, trailers, Streps,
and more they call them bulb pans. They also have different fetilizers like Peters Av food. I am in love with their plants too !
I order my 4 and 5 inch, hanging pots, 6,10 and 12 inch with saicers from Novosel if you spend $75.00 with them shipping is free.

How many pots do you need Red?

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

I think Red needs a lot of nrusery pots. If it was just a hundred her and hundred there I could order with mine.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Oh, I see...don't have that kind of supplying power...LOL can't wait till bingo is ready to start...I need to dmail Moretz and see how many we have signed up...everyone please play!

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

I'm going to order 2-3 hundred of 4's and hundred(or two) each of smaller pots. I don't have that many plants yet but have order in w/ Belisle for leaves and episcia stolons and will be ordering more leaves from other source as soon as weather permits.

The 2 inch pots go fast as good for all babies from Mom , good for Moiatures for life and Semi's any plants up to 6 inches across .
Then if it is a standard I go to 3 inch.
Then to 4 inch. Some large growing AV's when they got to 14 inches across I put them in 5 inch azeala pots.

When I was growing by leaf I bought the 2 inch by 500 as I like all my plants in new pots when I give them to someone :)) I like using the 3 oz dixie cups only for leaves babies with mom so on.
I like the 4 and 5 inch azeala pots best so order them from other company . The 4 inch are only 9 cents each.
I'm also ordering extras as I like putting diffrent sizes in goddie boxes and I'm always sharing them with friends !

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Allison, you are such a sweetie....I can just see sending out all of those goodies when you pack a box up...what a wonderful friend you are to so many of us!!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Thanks Janet how are your plants doing. My neighbors always need pots to and one enighbor took the last 3 or 4 plants gave her bunch of plants and when AV friends visit I give them pots, or Bingo boxes .

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

The ones I got from you are still kicking..LOL I lost all of the leave I won at Bingo though..it was just the wrong time of the year I think for me to keep them alive..I was very sad...potted them all up and watch them turn black and die one at a time..couldn't keep them the right temp I think...with the cooler night, and having the heat coming on and off...I don't know...I felt very inept at growing them...but the ones I have are all doing well...not blooming right now...but green and healthy...I can't wait for Mindi Brooke to bloom, I just love the leaves on that one!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Oh Mindi Brook is a sweet pretty plant ! Glad their doing well. It's hard to get flowers sometimes in Winter not much sun .
Which Bingo did you win leaves, sorry I forget ??
Different times of the year does make a difference in growing .

Ashdown, AR(Zone 8a)

Janet,
I feel your pain. I've been having trouble with my new leaves and babies this go round. Haven't lost all but several. I'll have to re-order and remember not to do leaves in the winter any more. I just have so much to do during gardening season.

It was the November game, I won the booby prize...for the most LEFT to call..LOL Jill sent me so many beautfiul healthy leaves and I think maybe four or five are still hanging on....I got them all potted up on Dec 8, and just couldn't find a spot that they thrived in...I don't have a lot of good sunlight coming in windows, very filtered and in the late months I think it just isn't enough....anyway, I tried several spots, and finally moved them into the bathroom and a few of them are hanging on...it just made me sick...;(

Oh I understand lights do make a difference. I don't have lights anymore and the windows here are not great the way the home is we don't get much light, A front screen porch blockes light from home, and side screen room from other side, small kitchen window under carport with lattice , and living room has awnings. Hubby did take a door out of the living room not needed and put a nice new window there !But we have had a lot of dark cloudy raining days this Winter.
I'm just glad for the couple I have, the Chirita babies have taken a long time as they were started in other home before we moved.
A shot of Vf-11 and the dun they get is making them happy .
But under lights they grew much faster.
Hang in there Spring is coming soon !
