tentative IDs?

These are a couple of gorgeous ones that I got from Bec_No_Va. I totally love them and they look like they'll be tough growers. (In my case, that means relatively drought tolerant. lol.)

They've lost their tags, though, so I'm wondering if you might have tentative IDs for them?

Did I mention I think they're gorgeous????

Keyring, that looks like the plain and variegated forms of H. macrophylla, perhaps. There are a lot of plants related to macrophylla that look very similar, but I only know of macrophylla as having that lovely white/pink variegation.

Key - hi there - when I ordered it was listed as a H. tjadasmalanguensis - also has it listed as H. macrophylla - glad they are doing good!

The variegated leafed hoya is known, presently, as H. macrophylla variegated form. The solid colored leaf WAS known as H. macrophylla until David Liddle changed 'THAT'particular hoya which I got from HIM- IML 1181- to H. tjadasmalanguensis. This statement is NOT to say that all leaves that look like that leaf....NOR...any plant called H. macrophylla (by anyother dealer, friend, trader, boxstore) is to be called H. tjadasmalanguensis. It is just THAT particular IML 1181 which was called H. macrophylla. Confusing...but it IS important.

Carol, I have a plant that looks much like the non-variegated one pictured above. I suspect it may be the one that is now called H. tjadasmalangensis, but as it wasn't labeled when I bought it, I'm not sure yet. I'm sure I'll have to wait 'till it flowers to be sure, but in the meantime, does H. tjadasmalangensis have multiple peduncles (like H. macrophylla) or single ones? My plant has solitary peduncles from the node.

Mark - it does have multiple peduncles, and tiny umbels. How old is your plant...? There is SO small subtle differences between the flowers of H. tjad., H. macrophylla and H. clandestina.

Oh good! I have real names!

(Becky darling - thanks again! If you decide to ditch the caudiciforms and elope with the orchids, give me a holler.)

Hehe - elope with Orchids....hmmmm maybe I will!
I am so glad they are in a good home and you are enjoying them! Excellent!
