can i plant yet?

Lumberton, TX(Zone 8b)

Don't y'all figure we'll be past the last frost in 8 weeks? I'm just itching to put those thousands of seeds into those thousands of jiffy-7 pellets!!! I couldn't contain myself and did plant 18 tomato seeds.

This year I'm tearing the cloth barrier off before I put them in pots or the ground, though. I had some that got rootbound inside the cover last year! I didn't think that was supposed to happen.

In the midst of ice and freezing weather you ask a question like that? Whoooooooooeee girl, you are eager!! Eight weeks from now it may be in the 90's with this weird weather but most of the danger of frost should be behind us, I would think. Sorry, gotta go see about those black plants in the yard...

I have the same problem with those little pots. They just don't deteriorate like they should. As I recall, your last frost date is around March 7, but I also remember there was a big freeze last year on March 23 - 24.

Just tear the netting off. Somebody mentioned that they did, with great results.
