A couple of photos

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Shot a couple of photos of a few plants that are 'different'.

First, I've got to show you my lemons on my variegated lemon. Has a few blossoms here and there, too. They smell lovely!
I doubt that they'll produce more lemons at this point, but they're nice, nonetheless.

I have a variegated Kumquat that produced fruit the year before last....didn't even bloom this year. It desperately needs to be repotted.

Araucaria araucana - aka 'Monkey Puzzle'.

This one I've had about 6? years....it lost some lower branches due to neglect (forgot to water) when my son was ill....but I just cut them off and she's no worse for the wear.
She's about 4' high...and she's PRICKLY! lol! My DH hates her;(

Oh how lovely! I've been wanting to buy a Meyer Lemon Tree just to have as a patio tree, but still haven't done it yet! That 'Monkey Puzzle' Tree is different!! Love the look, but I'm like your DH .... I don't like "Prickly" plants!

You sure have a Green Thumb Nan!

This is a Brachychiton, I believe.

I found it totally neglected all alone in the corner of a greenhouse...they had no idea what it was.

I had to do some research, and I'm positive now that it's a Brachychiton...but forgot which one...I think I have it written down at home....somewhere.

Mine still has 'juvenile' leaves, so it was hard to pin down the ID.

This is the one with the caudex that reminds me of Venus de Milo.....I'm going to post it on the Caudiciform forum to see if anyone there knows how I can get rid of or minimize that salt/lime buildup on the caudex.

Sorry about that photo quality...had to 'doctor' it a bit.

That area was the only place I could set the plant for a photo, and the location was rather dark no matter what I did!!

Here's the caudex.

Another neat plant! Love It!

This is just an ordinary plant we call Swedish ivy.....I got it on the side of the road last summer intending to do something with it;.....i didn't and sat it in a pewter container on the floor temporarily. It just keeps growing and blooming?????????? With houseplants I never know what i do right or wrong.

Bettygail: Nice Swedish Ivy ... I got a cutting in a trade from another DG'er a couple of months ago and it's doing great! Can't wait for it to get as large as yours in the photo!

Bettygail: Nice Syngonium too! I have some huge ones .... they grow wild here! I even have some growing up the side of my screen room out back ... if we have cold weather in winter, it dies and comes right back up in spring! I need to pot some up in a hanging basket cause I like that look with it hanging down and trailing .... haven't had it in hanging baskets in years! On my to do list!

Nan it will depend on the species of the lemon, my Myer lemon produces all year around. Norma

Oh, cool, Norma...so there may be lemons in my near future? lol!

I love syngoniums but honestly do think they're "divas"! They do really well living in water, tho. But I still want one of the mature ones that has the large monster vines if I can get one to survive that long!

Hey Susan: If you want a mature one, send me a D-Mail with your address and I will mail you one! Like I said, they grow wild down here! I have quite a few large ones! I posted photo's on another thread a couple of days ago .... let me look for those photos ... back in a sec!

Ok ... here's a solid green one that is in the ground outside my screen room .... you can see it attaches itself to the screen and grows up the screen.

More photo's to follow ...

Luv your Var. Lemon and caudex plant, Nan. I'm hoping to get some seeds for a Var. Lemon. I wonder how long it takes to bloom from seed.

Lin, I love those last two photos.

Thanks: That 'Arrowhead Plant' or Vine, whatever it's called is a REALLY easy houseplant to grow! I have Loads of the stuff! I keep saying I'm going to divide it and plant some in a hanging basket to let it trail .... I'll get around to it one of these days soon!
