This gorgeous philo is a hybrid ,not registered and I found it
at a fruit ans spices plant fair, couldn't resist the beauty of it,
so is now with me. Is called P. Imperial Wine with very dark
red wine color new leaves eventually turning into dark shiny
forest green.
Petioles are wine color with a peculiar condition, when broken
emits a watery rasberry color liquid.

Very pretty.

Louisville, KY

Looks similar to Royal Queen but hard to say. Their were a few older hybridizers in Florida years ago. Made a bunch of really odd hybrids most are gone but some are still floating around.

Hi Brian,
I have Royal Queen and they are similar but different.
The difference is in the shape of the leaves also the color
of the new leaf is more like the color of the Black Cardinal.
The plant was so rich that I could divided and now I have
two large ones and two babies, all doing great.
