That's it I have had it.I tried to get an e-mail out today during the day for 2 hours and I couldn't ....so I bought a dish and it will be installed tomorrow YIPEEEEEE!!!!!! Happy Happy dance here.
Last Night on Dial-up..YIPEEEEEE
Congratulations! Looking forward to many more posts from you in the future :-) --Ginny
kinnika, I think I know how you feel, I'd be dancing too if they ever get high speed out here!
We were *this* close in the fall. A new wireless tower was put up in our area so the fellow came out to test the signal. He got up on our two-story roof with his receiver(?) on top of a 30 foot pole and still could not get a strong signal because we are directly below a rock cut. He said we could install an 80' pole (at our cost of course), but even then there'd be no guarantee ... or we can wait to see if they put up another tower on high ground in the other direction... within the next couple of years. ack.

YIPEEEE!!! I am on the new dish and I love it...HAPPY DANCE here!!! Ginny at least it won't take me 1/2 hour to upload a picture now..
Sandy; Oh I have been waiting for this day is seems forever. I just couldn't stand it anymore. I am sooooo happy.
Dianne
Good news. Enjoy. And we look forward to lots of posts from you.

Everyone says things like
("half an hour to upload a picture")
but is it really that slow on dial-up?
edited to add: I've only ever been on high-speed, so I have really no idea.

Hi there believe me it is TRUE. I use to set the picture to upload and then go and wash my dishes..IF the internet didn't kick off I would get the dishes done before the picture would be finished..Half the time you would get 1/2 way through uploading and the internet would kick off and you had to start over..I have taken 2 hours to upload a progam that took 5 minutes on the highspeed. Believe me you never want dial-up.
Will be watching for lots more pictures now!!!!!
Oh you just raised my spirits 10 fold. Thank You..BUT Names ladies---2zeus is that a Stargazer Lily?? Inanda that is gorgeous..Where are you in Zone 2b? I I want one of each..
Congrats Kinnika I know what it's like to be on dial up.....the first year I joined Dave's we were on it and I remember walking away from the computer while pictures loaded (a loooooooong and slow process ;). You will fly through the forums now! :)
I'm not sure of the precise name, it was in a wheelbarrow at my favourite little local garden centre, labelled "oriental lilies, mixed" for a great price, too good to pass up - they all performed wonderfully, and I have them growing down the side garden against the house, so when I walk into the back yard, I walk through a cloud of delicious perfume first.
It looks like it in PF, though. Either stargazer, or starfighter, perhaps more like the latter.
Strange. Computer doing strange things. Deleted Winnipeg from my ID. You can find Easter Morn, a Manitoba toughie hybridized by Lynn Collicut, at Lily Nook.
Computer also added CA to Lilypon, thought that meant California which Moose Jaw ain't.

Ginny it is correct and it is short for Canada (CA) and Moose Jaw is located in there ;)......CA alone is California. I've already got SK by my location.
It's from the new page Dave has up when you sign in. It asks for the name of your country and then it adds the (CA) or whatever (??) country you're from when you sign in.

That page, asking for my location information, doesn't come up on my computer any more since I filled it in.........did you delete the information off yours when it came up?
To put Winnipeg back in you will have to click on the *My Info* tab, then click on *manage your preferences*, and finally you have to click on *your location*. If you fill in Canada as your country you will get the (CA) in brackets.

I wouldn't have the (CA) designationthough if I had chosen to click off Saskatchewan under the State/Province option.
Final edit for the day.......provinces weren't listed when I joined up. Since we post all over I like having the (CA) there and eventually people will figure out that it (CA) stands for Canada.

Well, here goes. We shall see what happens.
Another picture to cheer us all.
My fave kind of bug, found at Minter Gardens. Even though in a great rush to catch a ferry, you don't think I could miss a quick run through the gift shop do you. After a hair-raising trip down the snowy highway, with many crashes & accidents (not us), really needed a quick stop there.

OK, now what have I done to lose the copyright on top of the picture. I just HATE change. And do not want my pix used by others on other websites. To see this, go look at Gardeners Corner.org. No pix but all kinds of stuff.

No problem.......happy to see you got it all working to your satisfaction again. :)
I know that one. Just have to hunt for it in my files.
Will do so before long. Too late now.
