I got this at Home Depot the other day but it didn't have much info on the tag. Can anyone tell me more about this plant like common name, care tips, etc. It's really beautiful and reminds me so much of my peace lily but with more color :~)
Thanks,
Lana
Need Aglaonema info
Beautiful plant, I don't know much about them except that they die on me every fall as soon as I put the furnace on....lol...have given up on them, hope you can find the info you need to keep him healthy...I wish you luck
LA
So pretty these plants are look like a painting ! I don't know much but most likly good air circulation and humidity will be good for it.
Funny I have had this plant for years. A friend gave it to me I never looked it up to see exactly what is was. Last week when I was moving it I started wondering about the fact that I could have a plant for so many years and never found out what it was. It reminds me of my peace plant but the stems are different.
Lana: This looks like yours, 'Silver Bay

And, Hollyann: This looks like yours

Yep, 'Silver Bay'. It's beautiful and on my want list. I just have to figure out where on earth I would put it. All the ones I've seen locally are just too big for my quarters. Maybe when I get the office with a view at work, I can put it in there. LOL
GH
I have one like HollyAnn's, it goes into a school media center for the winter so it must be pretty tough, and out under a maple tree for the summer. Chinese Evergreen in general should be able to take low light. That Silver Bay is beautiful.
Thanks, Lin. I should have thought of that myself :~) Anyone have info to add to that on plantfiles? I would sure like to keep this plant happy and healthy. This one is big in my small space too, GH.
Lana
Lin,
Mine isn't as silver as Lana's. But I have a lot more light green than the picture you sent me. But at least I have an idea where to look. I'll get some time later. I just cut a couple of stems off the other day to try and see if they would start roots. Just put them in some water. Thanks Holly
HollyAnn: I've rooted many things in water, but never tried the Aglaonema. I have rooted the cuttings in soil before, maybe I might have to try the water method too!
Gorgeous Plants that both you and WVDaisy have! Wish I could find some as nice at my local store! Went to Lowe's yesterday with my hubby when he had to get sprinkler parts and their plants looked terrible! Very sickly and heavily waterspotted foliage ... I've never seen their plants look so bad. Our Home Depot is uaually pretty good and I need to stop in there today for some S hooks, I will probably end up leaving with a few "Green" things too! LOL
Lin
You know I think I may have had that plant for 10 years. It was just a little piece given by a friend that I worked with many years ago.
I believe my plant was a new shipment because most of the plants were still looking nice, some even blooming, though they were really dry and probably don't look so nice now.
Lana
here's a pic of mine, got from homedepot last week.
