In case you haven't heard, sunny 'warm winters' AZ has been freezing the last couple days. I can't tell you what 28 and 29 degrees do to tropical plants. Anyhoo- the hummers seem to do just fine, but they are just sucking down the nectar. I hear them out there before it is even light, barely even gray, chittering, chasing and drinking! They are so cute and absolutely fearless. The female Anna's are here at the house again, one was closely inspecting my (bright red) hair in the sun, I could feel the wind from her wings stirring my hair. Scouting for nesting material I think!
Pic's aren't too great, but these little guys are FAST!

Hummer in AZ
GREAT pics Birdlady!! I love the hummers and I wish we had the types you have out west. I love the Anna's and Costas! Thanks for posting these.

Great pics Susie! I miss these guys! :(
Susie, fabulous pics!!!!! I took my parents' hummingbird feeder down the other day to refill it and the poor little guy who's been hanging around all winter seemed just frantic. I got it back up as quickly as I could (had to thaw some chunks of ice) and he returned almost immediately.
