ID please

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I wish I had a flower to help with the ID. I'm trying to get it to flower this year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Anybody have any idea what this is? Or maybe just kinda close?

thanks,
Harper

I think the only thing that could be said honestly is that it is an unidentified and unidentifiable epiphyllum.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Epiphyllum hybrid is probably the best identification that you will get until you get a bloom, and even then, matching a bloom to a picture of thousands of epiphyllum hybrids won't be an accurate way to ascertain its name. It looks like a happy, healthy plant though!

I almost lost it just this week. It was hanging out in the garage with a few other epis and the garage got just a little too cold for a little too long. Oops! Thank goodness it's alive without too much damage.

Thank you Lin!! Good to hear from you.

Well, it bloomed. Can anyone help with an ID now?

Here it is starting out.

Beautiful bloom!!!

Yeah, thanks! Wish I knew what it was.

That bloom looks somewhat like the blooms on a giant epie found in a local greenhouse and tentatively ID's by the folks on epiforum as a Deutche Kaiserin.

And if that is what it is it is not Epie but Disocactus.phyllanthoides DK.

bhavana34, where is epiforums?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

epiforums is a website devoted to epiphytic plants.
Great place!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I'll look for it. Thanks!

Medford, NJ

I suppose you could find it at www.epiforums.com - the owner of the site is a member here too, I think - great guy, lots of nice people there and all the info you could ever want about epis, along with all related plants, hoyas too etc etc etc...forums, gallerys, trading, chats on sunday afternoon....also a very well put together and attractive looking site.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Bhavana, I checked out the site yesterday and liked what I saw. I didn't join, but I think after reading your endorsement, I will.

Thank you!

Epiforums is a great site!

Medford, NJ

I have met so many people thru that site, good trades, and more than a few things sent to me just out of generousity. They have alot of contests, round robins, and any question you have, you can get an answer to. I can't say enough nice things about it. The members range from beginners to growers/professionals and no one tries to make you feel like a moron if you don't know as much as they do.
