DG friends, please join me in welcoming my brother birdwatcher Jimmythenoo! He has a real knack for the wee creatures, especially birds..:-D

Glad to have this new Bird Watching forum, so now we can share our stories with great people with our same passion for birds and wildlife. You will love the GDers and the excellent photography!

Here is a pic Jimmy took of a wee Robin that came to visit him>>

Wow! That is marvelous!

Welcome, Jimmythenoo - it is so much fun on DG . . . I waste more time than I've ever done before!!!!

Hebron, KY

Me too Murmur! LOL! This seems to be the only forum and place I spend time on every day!

I'm really bad, Marilynbeth - I'm hooked on the cottage gardening forum, the Pacific Northwest forum, and a thread on the Jokes & Chat forum. I'd best retire soon as there's just not enough hours in the day!

I admit, the bird forum is far beyond my expectations - and the delight does not seem to be diminishing with anyone!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

lol...ok ok....I "waste" time here as well....almost every darn day...but who's a'countin? lol I agree, Murmur...what a delight this forum has become. I never knew I wanted a bird watching forum so bad until we actually got one...and I truly love it... :) Welcome to DG, Jimmy.......where are ya? lol
Beautiful photo, that. :)

oh how beatiful. Welcome Jimmie. European has some very beautiful bird, some similar and very different than ours. Our is the American Robin big and bold and theirs is just called a Robin, very small and shy. Really neat to get it to you hand. I was able to see one birdwatching when I was in Finland in 2001. I added 90 European Species to my life list

Blythe, CA(Zone 10b)

Yes, I should be out looking for a job, but instead I'm here drooling over birds..(LOL). Welcome Jimmie ! We'll need more pictures of course !

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Better, don't you know that a job will mess up your DG time? Forgeddaboutit!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

lol...alas...I "sneak" peeks to DG at work.. *shh*

Blythe, CA(Zone 10b)

Yes I know that Murmur, but I'm barred from buying plants until I get a job! I need an office job so I can sneak peeks also, on my breaks, of course (LOL)

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Nuts. I only work part-time, but I'm "out in the field" with disabled folks . . . so can't sneak any peeks at DG!! In a former life, as a secretary in large offices with constant access to the computer, I would have been in deep doo-doo!!!!!

Welcome to you too track!!!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Yeah Jimmy you need to tell them about the wee robin coming in your kitchen with you to make tea and toast...

Y'all, right now where Jimmy lives there aren't really any birds around.. they have all gone south for the winter. Come spring they will surely be back. He is in Northern Scotland, it is extremely harsh weather there in winter. Spoke to him for about an hour today on the phone trying to help navigate DG.. In time you can bet we will see a lot of special wildlife, fishies, and birdies from his way, hopefully by spring... I am very glad to have my brother aboard! He's my best friend in the whole world! (Besides DH (Kevin), of course).

Hi Jimmy, welcome from just south of the border too!

Actually, Lairg isn't harsh in the winter . . . it's zone 8 on the USDA scale. That's thanks to the Gulf Stream, which goes past Scotland. On the coast, it's even zone 9 (and yes, people can, and do, grow palm trees in northern Scotland). Of course the summers are very cool, but that's a different story!

Hey welcome Jimmy to DG! I have met your highly excitable sister Debnes! We made a quick tour of another DGer's garden this past summer. Hope you enjoy DG and all of it's facets! There is truly something for everyone.
Welcome to the BWF Tracks! We are all new on here since it has only been around about a month now. It is really going like wildfire though.
Hope to see some pictures from both of you. Get those cameras clicking!

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)
