I've got a bunch of glads, tulips (I think), and some random little things I don't recognize that I want to grow out for ID purposes for permanent planting. Can I do this in pots, and if so, what size? I don't really want to put them in the ground for fear of slicing them up when I dig them for relocating. :)
Thanks!

Help - Growing out bulbs for ID?
You can use any size pot and you can grow them inside. There are some great articles online about forcing bulbs. I did it one year, you can really cram a lot of bulbs in a pot. You can even layer the bulbs over one another so that you have a really gorgeous pot of flowers. This may not be good for identifying, but it looks great.
jburesh, I started layering in pots last year and absolutely loved it!! Then when everything was done blooming, I moved the pots to the back so they could "rest" and not get over watered. I'm eager to see if they all come back this year (the tulips are my biggest concern, of course, as they are the ones that hate being watered in the summer!).
