I know nuttin about them and want to grow a few flats for where i work.
would need to end up with a flat of red , a flat of white and a flat of blue.
I would be growing them in a room i have in the house dedicated for growing
which has in it now , palms , cordyline , catnip, peppermint and some ivy.
The room stays at about 75F
So im looking for sources to get some seeds from and when should i start them
so there ready for the end of may to go outside (zone5 upstate NY).
looking for pansy seeds
I got some in November from seedman.com. They had a really good germination rate. After you sow them they need complete darkness until germination. I covered mine with wet newspaper. Then after the first signs of germination you need to uncover them. I didn't have grow lights at this point and so some are very leggy. They need a very good light source after germination. I don't know when would be a good time for you to start in your zone, hopefully someone else can chime in with that info.
