Downy Woodpecker

I love the Downies! So adorable and sweet! Love having them here all year!

Edited to say....... that this is a male Downy because of the red on the back of his head (females don't have it).

Marilyn your DH took a great photo! I've tried doing this with Peanut Butter but all my darn squirrels ate it right up. Nice pics.

Never seen racoons on my property (lucky me), just groundhogs and possums.

We have a shy guy who to this point haven't gotten a good enough shot to ID...put out PB he will come... :)
I luckily haven't seen too many of of our rodent type visitors, just mice around the compost pile...let the hawks get THEM!! :)

I have had coons, possoms and squirrels climbing up the post to eat the nutty pb. I just open the patio door and clap my hands to chase them away. The coons and possoms usually come during the night, but sometimes I see them earlier. The squirrels sometimes act like they don't hear me and/or the sound of the door opening. :-((
