I just had to share....my mom and I went to Corpus Christi and visited the botanical gardens there. They have an orchid house that was just overwhelming. Tons and tons of orchids! And some were as large as beach balls or larger. Here is one they had in the back, it was at least 2 feet across.

Do you recall what the first one is? I have one here at home..not that big...wow..it's huge. I have been trying to identify mine, and the leaves and growing style are the same.

Every plant had a tag....it is maintained by the orchid society there. I don't know the name of the big one, I couldn't get that close to it because it was in the back where their tools and everything were. Maybe someone here can venture a guess as to what type it is. I only have 2 orchids, I don't have very good luck with them so I try to stay away from them. But a greenhouse full like that was just breathtaking! And I have never seen a bloom like the one in the last pic.
