How to build terraces on a steep slope

I hope I titled that correctly.

I was wondering if there is a good book, or someone can offer me some advice. I am on a budget, but would like to attempt to trellis my fairly steep slopes. It will be just me and my slopes are in some spots 45 degrees.

Do you think its possible? If so, what resources should I look at? What are your suggestions?
