We have been caught out on our 'road' so often without an umbrella that Bob decided to build a 'hale'. Here...it is half done. The guardian spirits we had lurking in the garage and they are perfect!!! The brown guardian is Louise. Now we have a 'bus stop'.

Looks good! How big a plot of land do you guys own? I had been looking for land in Hawaii months back. It was hard to find any nice plots forsale. Friend Andy is selling his place on Maui for 4 million. I dont have 1 let alone 4 of them.
Maui is OUT of SIGHT!!! 6 years ago we couldn't even get half an acre for out budget...and we found 12 here!!! A nursery of a friend of mine (3 acres) just sold for about 250M. Our subdivision has 3 acre lots...ranging between 50M to about 80M. NOTE: This is an increase in cost in 6 years to a factor of about 8. Land is still affordable and still a bargain. Most of the lots have tall trees...Ohia... Few other areas have such large lots. Still interested?
Cool!! My kids would love to have such a 'bus stop'...but alas, not in Wisconsin!!
Is poochie waiting for the bus? LOL!
Yes, Nan...that is Louise. We/she has a sister who is off the frame by the name of Thelma. Louise always has to be part of everything.
A great place to enjoy a refreshing beverage, too.
We expect the grandkids will get a lot of use to play fort. Bob reported today that it IS keeping off the water!!!
Auntie, nice shelter, I like the statues too. :-)

I love that...its like all the shipwrecked movies!!!!
What fun for the grandkids and you too!
When I was dropping some yard waste off at our neighborhood drop off spot yesterday I noticed someone had left some long Butia fronds. Oh, I was sooooooo tempted to bring them home and try something like your hut.
cool shelter!
Well Carol- I use chicken @#*@ too. I get alittle nervous tho because it's strong so I "brew" it. This batch is 6 months old. It's time to do it again! It's also time to get the turkeys started which is as rich manure but HUGE. I am hoping to not waste it. Maybe some S. FL gardeners want to brew their own fertilizer?
