I have sold a few things on eBay and done well but they were specific collectibles and I knew how to advertise them. Now, I am cleaning out the attic and have found some old Walker china I would like to sell. More than 30 years ago we lived in a home where one of the previous owners had been the captain of an Esso tanker. This would have been during the 40's and 50's. It was a rural area and in those days folks just tossed their garbage in the woods. When we moved in we cleaned up about 40 years of trash. In the underbrush we came across these dishes with the Esso burgee on them and I saved them but now it is time to clean out.
I have 2 dinner plates, 1 salad plate, 4 cups and 3 saucers. There are no scratches of any kind on the faces of the plates so I do not believe they had ever been used but there are little marks on the edges of the plates which may clean up but I was afraid to try and scour them.
Would I direct my advertising to china collectors or Esso memorabelia collectors? Is ebay the best route to go?
