I am also going to post this on the Ginger Forum....anyone know which ginger this is? Planted it a couple of years ago and this is the first time it has bloomed....and, of course, no tag!!! TIA

I don't think so, Kyle. Z. spectabilis has an inflorescense that looks more like a cone...or a very stylized 'beehive'. These bracts are very tapered...with just the one little white flower at the end...kinda like a snake coming out of the ground (UCK).

I am wondering if the flowers are completely open? I have a Z. that starts out like that and then takes many weeks to really open and fill out.

It certainly is beautiful the way it is and I love that rich red color. Hope you get an ID on it.
