Crazy weather ....

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

I can't believe it! It's supposed to be 84 degrees high today in my zone (9b) in Florida with a low of 68 degrees tonight. This is JANUARY! I don't know if this is setting any records, but I can't remember a winter this warm! =:-O

My plants are all sprouting or growing like crazy after all the warm rain we have been having over the past couple of weeks. Raining like spring rains. Even the birds I am hearing in the morning sound like spring singers! LOL

Which makes me wonder if the birds are flying back north ...... early? Anyone noticing any early arrivers? Just wondering if the warmer southern weather is confusing the birds like it is my plants?

Hi Becky, Its the same here in GA. Highs in the 60s lows in the 50s the last few days. Birds here are loving it, but it worries me what will happen when winter finally hits. Next week we are to have lows in the 20s. ARGH! I haven't seen any migrating ones though.

Are you trying to make us crazy, Ginger?

It seems to me that the Canada geese have arrived a little early here. It's been in the 70s all week - bout 15* above normal. And everything's sprouting!

My daffodils are sprouting their heads up!

Yup. It's insane. I have snowdrops, too. Magnolia has huge buds. It's been so warm for weeks and now we''re told to expect low to mid 30s early in the week. Hope all these spring things don't get burnt. On the bright side, I can hang up the suet feeder and the stuff won't melt! :)
