Awesome Andy. Mine died for some reason this summer. Have no clue, like almost overnight it was gone

Donna, you'll have to try again.
Same plant, shot taken yesterday. This is why I keep it.
It's going to look mighty worn out by May, though. It looses 3 leaves for every flower. Look at all the buds, lol.

Hi Andy,Stunning pics.I have this one also, aka Mrs George DavisI it really is a gorgeous hibiscus. How do you manage to get this one to flower during your winter?Do you use grow lights?Heres my pic taken in the last couple of days

Brical, Yours looks like mine. It blooms in Winter because I prune severely in Spring when I put it outside for the Summer. It spends most of the Summer recuperating so by the time I bring it back in in Autumn it's loaded with buds. I give it only one shot of food in Spring, it sits on the floor in front of a large south facing window for the Winter.
This is what it/they looked like last Spring.

They look really nice Andy.Have you repotted the smaller one since and how long is your growing season there? They'd certainly brighten those long winter days...Do you find the flowers last for a couple days too?

Brical, The smaller one was potted into the brown pot last June right after the first pic was taken.
I keep them pot-bound so they don't grow too fast. I can only keep them for 15 to 18 years before I have to give them away, they get too big. I'm getting better at pruning/training so the larger one may go 20 years this time.
I should have taken a pic after I pruned them, they look very sad, lol.
Our frost free growing season runs from late May to mid October.
Yes, the flowers last for about 2 days. They are so heavy they sometimes startle the dog when they fall.
The one in your pic is a beauty.
