............................we had over 6,000 sign the petition but is was not enough for this blind Mayor to see.
Thanks to all who did not just sit on their hands and tried to help.
The fight does go on though.
This affects law abiding citizens in numerous ways.
ex..... you must reside on 3 acres if you have 3 or more dogs , 1 1/2 acres for 2 dogs.
Excess will result in fines and confiscated dogs that WILL be neutered and put up for adoption.
Laws like this are coming up across the US so be aware.
The ordinance requires people to buy $50 permits to keep dogs that aren’t spayed or neutered, requires unaltered dogs to be kept on a 4-foot leash and requires that all unaltered dogs impounded by Metro Animal Services be spayed or neutered if they are given back to their previous owner.
Even if you are attending a dog show from out of town you and your dogs will be fair game for impoundment.
If you stop for gas and a passerby decides your dog looks dangerous they can call the PNs ( aka Pet Nazis )
and your unaltered dog will be impounded and altered before you can get little rover back.
.btw ............... 4 ft leashes are almost never seen at shows ,
[ GSDs show on a 12 foot lead. ]
Needless to say all the dog shows large and small in Lewisville are being boycotted which will take $millions$ of income away.
