Should I remove the humidity dome?

West Orange, NJ(Zone 6a)

The cutting of dwarf Singapore pink I started in mid-Sept. now has 2 leasves fully unfurled, and many more leaf buds getting ready to open. I used a soda bottle as a humidity dome to help it root (to keep me from overwatering it, too). Now it's outgrowing the dome (I don't want leaves or branches touching the plastic for fear of rot). Should I remove it (I've already cut an opening for 1 branch to poke through - handy for misting since I can poke the nozzle in and spritz), keep cutting openings as needed, or will the plumie just not rot where it touches the plastic? It's still on the heat mat, under the Ott-Lite 14-16 hr/day and in a south-facing window. (Note to Hetty- I'm trying not to bother it too much, just seeing what it needs).
I have to say that rooting this plant has been an adventure in learning, in patience, and in expectations (as in, I can't wait for blooms to smell).

Go ahead and take that dome off now!
What do you have it in, mostly perlite? If so I would consider repotting it in about 3-4 weeks when growth will really start to happen, as it might want some more nutritious soil by that time. Be VERY careful with the new roots when you do, the first roots tend to be very brittle and will break easily.
Congratulations!

Hi Hetty, It's potted in Better Gro C&S mix plus some extra perlite. Added Osmocote pellets to the mix too. Thanks!

Yes, I would definitely remove the dome, but I would not repot it until it is rootbound and until there is warmer weather -- both these conditions should be met before repotting. Since it just rooted, it won't be rootbound until mid-summer probably. Congrats on rooting it!
