I'm new here so I'm kind of lost. When I go to the trade tab and look at the members trade list, I notice that many of the offers or requests are years old. Am I looking in the wrong place for seeds that are availible now?

The freshest seeds are most likely in this forum, and it is always a good idea to check the thread start date - most threads will have a "CLOSED" right at the start, when they are no longer available.
Unclehudy, welcome to DG.
You're in the right forum for seed trading. If you're new to gardening or (more specifically) exchanging some of the seed you've collected from your own plants for some from a different plant just post a message asking for the seed you'd like.
I'm warning you though, there are a LOT of lovely, very generous people that use this forum and you could end up buried under a pile of seeds by this time next year...I almost have, LOL

I know exactly what you mean! I did that when I was new and had no luck whatsoever -- so just post what you're looking for here -- and before you do that, here's a hint: Put EVERYTHING you 're looking for on your own tradelist!
