What a riot!

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Chewie's trip away from me yielded a happier horse, but also a lead on lessons! I have found a place that does lessons on-site, and has a lady from near Dallas come down once a month for lessons/clinics. Met them all on a yahoo group. It's incredible! The travelling instructor has an Andalusian she said I can ride for lessons, and the fellow that owns the farm that hosts the lessons has a TB he offered up. They'll do lunge-line lessons! They're all adults taking the lessons! They said the classes don't usually have any more than 5 or so people in them, and each person gets their own "lesson time". Said lessons are pretty cheap, and while they're normally an hour "if it takes longer to get something done, charge is per lesson, not per hour." One lady lives about half-way between my house & the lesson place, and said that I could even haul to her house, spend the night, and she'd get us the rest of the way! That'd save tear on my wee little truck hauling long distances. The host even said if I brought Chewie up, he'd ride him while I had my turn with the clinician, and let me ride his lesson horse. That way, the horse gets an eduated lesson and so would the rider!

Don't know how regularly I'd go up there, but I'm just happy I found somewhere! Wow! What a neat little supportive group of cool people....
