Fruit of our labor

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

these were gathered to take to our relatives in Okla. If somebody would have told me that I would ever grow a basketful of fruit, I would have laughed hysterically and told them they were insane. We have Ruby Red grapefruits, Navel Oranges, Sweet 100 tomatoes, noid lemons, and a couple of variegated lemons from one of our var. Meyer lemon trees.

What a wonderful gift. No citrus here this year, I am envious.

I am envious also! Oh Nery.....I would love your zone!!!

Lucky you. I had 3 Meyer Lemons and am very particular of how I use them. One is still on the 'tree'.

Forgot to say, that's an impressive basket of fruit.

You people down south are sooo lucky to live somewhere that you can grow citrus, Makes me think of San Diego, I miss tree ripened oranges.

Most folks in this area that grow citrus experienced major blossom drop last year. The best we can come up with is that there was a pretty serious drought during the blooming period and that is when citrus need lots of water. You can bet I'll be watching my trees carefully this year to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Got to make up of of those baskets like Vossner's!!!!!

Yesterday the mail lady brought me one of those Palestine Sweet Limes (aurantifolia) from Logee's. Just had to have it ya' know......... :-)
