Urea questions

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

What is urea and why don't we want it in our AV fertilizer?

Hi Debbie, I'm not sure what urea is?? I've heard it can burn tiny roots on a/v's. I've heard that it is best to use a a/v fertilizer with no urea. I'm still new to a/v's so let's see what the experienced growers have to say.

I'll give this a shot.

urea is an animal byproduct that is used to make up the nitrogen in fertilizer. Usually horse urin is used. It is very acid based and can burn roots. Most growers suggest using a fertilizer that does not contain urea.
