Old Fashioned Candy Recipes Needed

HI....

I am looking for some tried and true old fashioned candy recipes...leaning toward the hard candy spectrum. Nothing with artificial ingredients....just something older....that you know works and tastes great!

I am experimenting as I have never really made candy before...but before I waste more sugar or cream or time...thought I'd see about on here.

For example, I made butterscotch today. Very good (but too chewy - had cream in it). But I also made a sponge candy...tasted not so great.

If I missed any post please point me in the direction or pls help me with your wisdom and taste buds!
