I got this plant as a couple of divisions a year ago, now the plant has about 30 stems and putting on a great show.
Heliconia Red Christmas starting to bloom.
Beautiful, Kyle. I have some (also some of the yellows), but they're not close to blooming yet - now I know what I can look forward to.

This forn takes some shade and only grows about 3 feet tall.Only blooms in winter months, when the others are slowing down. :-)
Drop dead gorgeous!

INCREDIBLE! Wow, Kyle! That easily moves onto my top ten test list of the most stunning flowers I have ever seen.
Congratulations and thank you for sharing!

Dale, in the winter they just stay at the greenhouse for us employees to enjoy.Other varieties I plant out in the spring downtown in the tropical displays. They bloom yearround or are summer bloomers. If I sent these to city hall they would either die of low light, or no watering. Too risky!! LOL
Gosh, I thought i had this heliconia...but I don't, and now I know I need it!! lol thanks kyle!!!
Kyle calls it work but he is really playing. :-))))) Brilliant !
arde....SHUSH! don't blow my cover... LOL :-)
Kyle, you always have the most gorgeous plants. I would love to be your assistant (gofer).
Linda I couls sure use one soon,,,spring planting is a few months off but the greenhouse` will go into fast mode real soon, 500,000 bedding plant, perenials and tropical annuals for display beds. I'm tired just thinkin about it!! LOL
Eclipse....Gorgeous! Youv'e given me hope. I have the Yellow and was just about ready to pull it up and throw it out. Now, I will pull it up but repot it and move it to a better location. I'm in zone 8b and since I've had it it hasn't done much. But after seeing your beauty I've revised my thoughts.
I keep looking at that picture Kyle; it is probably the prettiest Heliconia I have ever seen.
I like the way the flowers stand above the foliage when it blooms instead of under or between the foliage like the taller ones
