this is funny - my hoya is in love ;0)

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

my hoya carnosa NOID has fallen in love with this pink Christmas tree!! before the decorations went up it had a long shoot. I just noticed today that not only has it reached the tree, it has totally twined around Santa! this pink tree was a bit of a joke, all decorated with Santa in the tropics, beach stuff and sea shells. Even has a flamingo parking cars.

But it also has buds in 2 places on that shoot, so I'm not complaining. it can flirt with Santa all it wants to LOL.

thought you all might get a kick out of this

Happy New Year!

thanks, all. here's the whole tree

Karen, there are actually 2. if you look at the first pic, a big one at the top left corner, and a smaller one about half way down

edit to add: that's assuming a peduncle is a developing bloom, or group of blooms. I don't know much about hoyas :-)

Well, I can tel that Gram doesn't have cats (LOL) or that tree would be a gonner!
I love the fact that your hoya likes that tree enough to not only flirt with it, but to develop some blooms that look as though they will be the same color!
Congrats on the FABULOUS tree and hoya blooms!!!

I'm just not even gonna ask where on earth you got a pink feather tree. Ann i'm with you on the not having cat's thing. Gizmo would have that down faster than you can say anbody know where my pink feather dusters got too!!!!

I'm sure they would think it was a big cat toy LOL I am a cat lover but don't have any at the moment, so I can have anything I want ;)~

dmichael, I had a cat that looked a lot like Gizmo. he was adorable, but not too bright. he probably would have eaten the entire tree!

ps. got it at Michael's! I was there getting a picture framed and it called to me when I walked by. what could I do? I have 15 Christmas trees of all shapes & sizes, but didn't have a pink one LOL. now I can use it for Valentine's Day and Easter

Too Cute! We have 4 cats and I Know at least one of them would think that "Pink Feather Tree" was just for them! LOL

I used to do 4 or 5 little trees around the house and in my office ( when I worked ).... I always did one as a Florida tree with Sea Shells, Starfish and beachy stuff (Hey, I live in Florida!) .... will have to go to Michael's to see if I can find one of those Pink Feathers! So cute! I will just have to put it in a room where the kitties can't see it!

Thanks for sharing Gram!

Happy New year to you too!
Awww that is such a cute tree! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy:) Looks like your off to a good start with getting a January Blooom.
Have fun and send us a picture when it opens.

thanks, Bea & Lin. I certainly will post when it opens. It's going to be tough to take that tree away from it when it's time to take down the decorations (and that will be SOON) LOL.

Hi, again. Well, I have a lovely January bloom and another yet to come. The pic is fuzzy. I've taken umpteen and can't get a clear one and I don't want to move the plant. It's grown a lot since I put it here. Tough to get those upside down shots LOL

I've taken the pink tree away and didn't hear any crying, so I guess the hoya will be ok after all ;0)

the second peduncle (am I using the right term?) on this vine is kind of lopsided. all the buds are not developing at the same rate. is this unusual?

You really have a winner there. I liked the tree also.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

thanks, jeri. I'm just so pleased that it's blooming. the tree will be back for Valentine's Day :0)

That would look so fine with little red hearts & cupids hanging on it. You are so clever.

So pretty! I'll bet your house smells divine!

Ann, this one has no fragrance :-( Until I started reading about hoyas here, I didn't know they WERE fragrant!. So now i have to get another, of course. I got an itty bitty H. lacunosa from Rob's violets in October. I guess they stay small? I think that's a 2.5" pot. It's supposed to be very fragrant.
