I never got them planted. Can I put them in the ground now? Any chance they would bloom? Would it be better to not plant them until next year? Thanks.

Narcissus and dutch iris bulbs
If meaning "not to plant them until next year" means tomorrow, then that is fine.
You can not save them until November of 2007. Plant them soon!!
LOL! Ok, that's a good answer. Thanks! Will they bloom this first year?
The Narcissus will flower and it depends on how soon the warm weather will come for the Dutch Iris. If it is a mild Winter, then not many flowers will appear untill 2008
You caught me on an undistracted and bright moment for me to come up with that remark.
I'd recommend potting them up (Daffs at least) and then putting them somewhere coolish but not nearly as cold as outside (a cellar) for a few weeks or so (watered) and then transfer the potted material (sans the pot!) into the ground for spring blooming. The few weeks before outdoor potting will allow roots to grow before the outside chill. Daffs need to be rooted to do their best. I'm forcing a quite a few pots this year and I have everything from Daffs, to tulips, to scillas, to alliums, etc sprouting up. I account it to the fact that they all had 2-4 weeks to root in my coolish but not cold basement before chilling. So far the blooming (not just leafing) looks promising - even with difficult to force tulip and allium bulbs. But if you're not up to this just plant them ASAP and cross you're fingers - you never know how well they'll bloom! Maybe this mild weather will help them root anyway.
Good Luck.
Red, that's a great suggestion. Not sure I can manage that if I can't even manage sticking them in the ground! LOL! That does give me ideas for next year, though.....
