Kentia Palm, Sentry Palm, Paradise Palm
Howea forsteriana

Remarkable (to me) group of palms growing in full sun in hot, dry inland southern California, showing ability to adapt (but maybe not look perfect)

There are lots of healthy, happy and very tall Howeas in Pasadena.. should be no problem!

Fair... our periodic freezes hurt them and the full summer suns when it gets over 100F are brutal, damaging most of the leaves... but the worst is the hot, fall Santa Anas. Still, I have seen a few in full sun, but rarely happy.

Oh, ok, thanks. I had an odd winter, all of my roystoneas burned pretty bad, and all of my foxtails were untouched, weird!
