I had mulched my Colocasia's with pine straw after they died back. (Black magic & Illustis) Last week I covered them with sheets because it was pretty cold and rainy, and I hoped they wouldn't get too soggy. The worst cold seems to have passed for now, so I removed the sheets and to my surprise, there was new growth.
Since this is my first winter with these guys, I wanted to ask those of you with more experience what I should do. My guess is - do nothing. Leave the pine straw, don't do any watering but maybe not protect them from getting wet? Weather now is generallu upper 50's to mid 60s day and 40s at night.
Your thoughts appreciated.

Colocasia's not dormant?
Hi Deb, mine do that too. Every time it gets warmer they try to grow, then more cold will freeze them. Just keep them mulched. I'm getting so impatient to start my 'spring' gardening with all this mild weather we've been having, but I know that Jan. and Feb. will bring us some freezes. Come on March.
Thanks, Linda. I feel better now. :)
